Delicious food with a view of the beach at the Rocket House Caf?é in Cromer

After a blustery walk along the cliffs, the Rocket House Café in Cromer is a haven of loveliness! Coming in from the cold, they offer delicious food in great surroundings, and being perched just above the beach, the views are fantastic. The café is above the RNLI Museum, and the first-floor balcony means that on a warm, sunny day you can sit outside and feel like you are eating on the beach. For ‘inbetweeny’ spring days, there is a balcony area with a windshield so you can get a good dose of fresh air while avoiding the elements.

A lot of the food is seasonal and so the specials change constantly. They seem to try and get everything locally where possible, including lots of Cromer crab at the right time of year. Main meals are very good value, coffee is as you’d like it and the cakes are well worth a brisk stroll along the beach for! They’ve actually just announced that from January all of their cakes are homemade (although most of them tasted like they were before!). Take the kids as there is lots of food for them, and they are very much welcomed. To make things easy, there’s a lift if you’re visiting with a buggy or wheelchair.

If you want to earn your lunch, park at the public car park in Overstrand and walk a couple of miles along the beach or the cliff-tops to Cromer. The cliff-tops give beautiful views of the town although you do have to mind the golfballs as you go!
